Acer has come out with the next series in their Timeline family - the 8000, aimed at both business users and regular consumers.
The new Timeline 8000s will be available in 13.3", 14" and 15.6" versions, though all will have a resolution of 1,366x768. You will have your choice of Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Duo ULV CPUs, from 4GB to an impressive 8GB RAM, and HDDs from 160GB to 500GB or an 80GB SSD. Other features will include an upgrade to an ATI 4330 GPU instead of Intel's GMA 4500MHD, multi-touch trackpad, and 3G. The 8000 claims to achieve 8 hours of battery life and has a feature where it stops actively charging when the battery reaches 100%, reducing the harmful effects of overcharging.Pricing and availability has not yet been announced.
