Acer has notified that a few Aspire Series notebooks may be the victim of overheating. Thus, the company is voluntarily recalling five models of the Aspire series.
The affected models may experience some overheating issues after repeated or extreme pressure is applied on the left palm rest that will result in the overheating of the microphone cable. This might result in the deformation of the unit and possible system failure. This might also result in the malfunction of other components due to increased temperature in the chassis. The affected models are: Acer Aspire AS3410, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG.
To determine whether or not your model might be affected, fill out the form on Acer's website. Acer will repair or replace the affected models free of charge.
