Dell Releases 12-inch Vostro 1220 Ultra-portable Laptop

Starting at $799, this is the smallest Dell "Notebook" aimed at small & medium businesses.
Dell has officially released new Vostro 1220 12.1" Ultra-portable Laptop in the U.S. It's available in Obsidian Black or Deep Cherry Red with support for up to 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 8GB DDR2 RAM and integrated Intel X4500MHD graphics.
$799 Vostro 1220 base config sports 2.2GHz Celeron 900 Processor, DVD+/-RW Optical Drive, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB Hard Drive and pre-installed Windows Vista Home Basic OS. Upgrade options on the 3.36lbs Vostro 1220 Notebook include: 12.1" Anti-glare Premium LED Display, up to 500GB 7200RPM or 250GB 7200RPM Encrypted Hard Drive with Free Fall sensor, Blu-ray, Fingerprint Reader, 6-cell 60WHr Li-ion battery; Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11n WiFi.
Dell also supports Windows XP on the Vostro 1220 using the Windows Vista Business downgrade path. Ubuntu version of the Vostro 1220 can use the exlusive 16GB SSD option instead of a regular 2.5" hard drive or solid-state drive.
