July 11, 2006 at 12:31:00 AM, by Thai Tan Rating: 0 out of 5

AMD is putting the Turion 64 mobile processors on notice for termination.

With the launch of Turion 64 X2, AMD is discontinuing the original Turion 64.

DailyTech reports that among a slew of Sempron and Opteron (Socket 754 and Socket 940 respectively) announcements, AMD has also indicated that the Turion 64 mobile processors are in their End of Life cycle. All of the existing MT and ML SKU's are set for termination and will become very scarce in the near future. If you want to purchase one for your own DIY notebook or low-power desktop, you should act fast and peruse the latest prices here.
