Sanyo solar powered Eneloop charger and Eneloop batteries to help the environment.

Japan's Sanyo Electronic announced a solar charger for its next generation rechargeable batteries dubbed Eneloop.

Eneloop, which means energy and loop are earth's best friend - the batteries not only last longer than traditional batteries but can be recycled when they die.

The Eneloop batteries come pre-charged and can maintain 85% of their charge even after storing them away for a year.

It takes approximately 75-300 minutes to charge depending on the weather.

The product will be released in November in Japan.
