New multimedia Ultra Smart F700 with touch screen and QWERTY keyboard.
Samsung today announced its Ultra Smart F700 mobile phone, aimed to compete against Apple's iPhone.
Showcased at 3GSM World Congress, the F700 features a 2.78-inch touch screen as well as a QWERTY key pad. A "Drag and drop" method of touch screen was adopted for easier menu navigation along with music play list control.
Adjusting the volume, play lists, brightness of screen, and other menu control can be controlled by touching the screen, Samsung said.
Using HSDPA (High Speed Download Link Packet Access) network, the Ultra Smart is capable of speeds of 7.2 MBps. That means downloading a 4MB MP3 file will take 4.4 seconds, according to Samsung.
The phone has Internet capabilities like a built-in browser and e-mail. Samsung loaded a whopping 5-megapixel camera with auto focus along with Bluetooth 2.0+ but no Wi-Fi built-in.
