Asus Eee PCs are light laptops designed for internet surfing, learning and working on the move.
Eee stands for 'Easy to Learn, Easy to Work, Easy to Play!'
Asus has announced the Eee Series of PC-cum-notebooks specifically for surfing the internet. The first model from the Eee series, EeePC 701 features a 7-inch display powered by low-cost Intel mobile CPU and chipset.
The EeePC 701 sports almost all the connectivity options that you may find in present-day notebooks like the 802.11b/g, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and 56K modem. On the storage front, it comes with 4/8/16GB of flash memory. Also packed in is a 0.3 Megapixel webcam for video conferencing. ASUS has managed to provide 512MB of DDR2-400MHz RAM on this affordable notebook.

Battery life is around 3 hours with 4-cell battery back of 5200mAH capacity. It's dimensions are 22.5 x 16.5 x 2.1~3.5cm and it weighs around 0.9 Kilogram.
The 701 supports both Windows XP and Linux operating systems. There is no official word with respect to the launch date of the Eee PCs but expected price is around $200. That would really be something to cheer about!
