Nokia joins the GPS bandwagon. The crowded GPS bandwagon.
Handset maker Nokia today announced their new Nokia 500 Auto Navigation.
The device comes with built-in Bluetooth for handsfree calling and will also show who's calling you on the 4.3-inch wide touch screen display. Like any other GPS device, it offers turn-by-turn voice directions but features text-to-speech for speaking out street and city names. Nokia 500 says: "Turn left on Chapman street", in a sexy voice.
Another interesting feature is the GPS allows you to call directly from the GPS. For example, you locate a restaurant. You then point with your finger to initiate dialing automatically from your mobile phone to perhaps make reservation. Lastly, it supports Traffic Message Channel service and comes with integrated FM Transmitter.

The Nokia 500 Auto Navigation will be available in Q4 2007 in Europe for 300 Euros and sometime in U.S. soon after (2008).
