iPhone watch out. GPhone might be ringing in September.
Rumors are circulating on the new Google Phone thanks to Mark Hopkins, who claims to know the inside scroop from sources at Google.
According to his sources, the Google phone will be powered by a modified version of Linux kernal and will have GPS functionality built-in. The navigation will be used with Google Maps application.

Of course, the phone will work seamlessly with GMAIL, Calender and Google Documents. Hopkins mentions that the Google mobile phone is less about beating out Apple's iPhone but more about making a stamp to the $100 Laptop. He also believes Google will sell it for way cheap to push more on targeted text ads served on the phone.
So when is this supposed to be available again? Hopkins claims Google will announce the device very soon and that a North American version will be available by end of the year.
