GeForce 7050, 7100 and 7150 IGPs to be coupled with Intel processors in budget PCs.
The graphic abilities of these IGPs equal those of Intel's integrated GMA-series graphics and near entry-level GPUs.
Nvidia is all set to release a integrated graphics microchip to be coupled with Intel processors as the company goes toe to toe with Intel in the integrated graphics chip market.
Given the proliferation of graphically rich computer programs - Nvidia, Intel, AMD and others aim to provide better graphics performance. Intel has already upgraded its integrated graphics offering, the G35, aimed at mainstream PCs.
Nvidia already has 62 percent of the market for integrated graphics on motherboards used in PCs powered by AMD processors. But its market share on motherboards in Intel-powered PCs is less than 1 percent.
Nvidia has revealed that its GeForce 7150, 7100 and 7050 chips will support the Intel desktop PC processor range including the Core 2, Pentium and Celeron equipped ones. Furthermore, these IGPs will also supported the upcoming "Penryn" Intel processors due to launch on November 12. The GeForce 7150, 7100 and 7050 chips are aimed at desktops priced between $400 to $600 budget.
Official Product Announcement & Availability:
Nvidia will officially launch the new GeForce range of IGPs for Intel processors tomorrow.
