Ed Zander Steps Down as Motorola CEO

Greg Brown to take his place.

Motorola announced today that Ed Zander is down being the top dog at the third largest cell phone company today, a position he has held for four years. Greg Brown, current President and COO will fill the position in January 2008 with Zander remaining chairman of the Board until May of 2008.

Zander, a transfer from Sun Microsystems, was the CEO to guide Motorola through the RAZR era. His bald pate will be missed.
