ASUS Introduces Gaming Laptop with Intel Quad-core Processor

Their G-series of gaming laptops get a new member - the 17" G71 with Core 2 Extreme QX9300 and GeForce 9700M GT.
ASUS has unleashed another monster of a gaming laptop which excels especially in the CPU department. Touted to be the world's first Quad-core gaming laptop featuring the new Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9300 CPU, ASUS encourages overclocking it as you won't find any overspeed protection on the G71.
ASUS has based the G71 on the Centrino 2 mobile platform with support for up to 4GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM. Graphics on its 17" WXGA+/WUXGA screen are handled by 512MB GDDR3 GeForce 9700M GT discrete GPU. In other features, the laptop can feature up to 1TB storage (dual 500GB drives), optional Blu-ray burner, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 2MP Swivel WebCam and 2GB Intel Turbo Memory (again optional).
Expect the G71 to hit retail stores in the coming months with a bundle comprising of the laptop, backpack, gaming mouse and a headset.
