Intel Apple iBook to Ship in June

Reports indicate Asustek Computer secured a contract from Apple Computer for new iBook laptop computers.

According to Commercial Times reported by Forbes, the new Intel-based iBook laptop computer will be made by AsusTek Computer.

The new iBook will come equipped with a 13.3-inch widescreen, the first in the iBook line. Apple Computer will begin selling the new laptop in June with approximately 1.2 million units, while contract suppliers to start deliveries from April.

The LCD panels will be produced by AU Optronics Corp, Chi MeiOptoelectronics and LG Phillips.
