The T2300E has the same TDP as a Low Voltage processor and is cheaper than the T2300!
Intel's Core Duo T2300E replaces the T2300 for less money and less power.
We were just getting around to contacting Intel about the T2300 models, as it was a bit of a mystery what was going on. As we recently reported on Intel's recent price and product shifts, Intel introduced the T2300E model to replace the T2300. All we had seen at that point was the 13.3% lower price (T2300 was $241, T2300E is $209) and the same performance specs: 1.66GHz, dual core, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB. Well while perusing Intel's website today, we noticed a detail on the Processor Number page:

Look closely at the T2300E's specs and you will see it is rated at a 15W TDP! This is the same TDP as the Low Voltage processors listed below it, which cost over $100 more individually. Is this a typo or does Intel have a trick up it's sleeve?
We're contacting Intel about this as we speak, stay tuned!
