Dixons To Release Ultraslim Advent Altro

UK retailer Dixon's Advent Altro and Advent Altro Elite are sleek, svelte notebooks that come close to the MacBook Air in design while staying far below it in price.
Advent is Dixon's own brand, and the new CULV Altro is an attractive release. The metal-cased 13.3" notebook will have an Intel Celeron CPU to go along with 3GB RAM and a 120GB HDD. There will also be WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and HDMI and an interesting multifunction connector to be used with a port replicator.The Altro Elite will bump you up to a full on Intel Core 2 Solo CPU and add a flush glass finish for extra sexyness.
Both notebooks will be available at Dixon's on 8/24. The standard Altro will fetch £600 (approx $990) and the slightly pricier Elite will rake in £800 (roughly $1320). Both run Vista but come with that handy free upgrade to Windows 7 to take the sting out of buying a laptop before October. Page:1/1
