Dixons to launch Advent Altro Ultraportable Notebook

Dixons, a retailer from UK is preparing to launch Advent Altro ultraportable notebook which is going to compete MacBook Air. The laptop has the same sleek design as Macbook Air but will cost nearly half its price.

The 13.3 inch laptop is based on low power Intel Celeron processor, 3 GB RAM and 120 GB shock proof Hard Disk. It includes a multi-touch trackpad, fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with standard USB and HDMI ports. It also contains a multifunction connector which connects external replicators. The laptop weighs 1.6 KG with 21 mm thickness and will be priced around £600 ($987).

An Elite version of the notebook will also be released which is equipped with Intel Core 2 Solo processor and premium flush glass finish to the display. This will cost around £800 ($1,316). Both of these laptops are equipped with Windows Vista which comes with Windows 7 free upgrade and are expected to release on 24th August.
