HP has announced two new netbooks for the holiday season, the Mini 110 Studio Tord Boontje special edition and the Ion-based Mini 311 with HDMI.
The HP Mini 110 special edition is an update over the existing Mini 110 netbook and comes with a new flora design by Studio Tord Boontje. The lid has a brand new process termed "HP Imprint 3D" which allows designs with layers and depth. It comes with StarDock MyColors theme and 15 new wallpapers designed by Tord Boontje. However, it's expected to come with the same hardware as standard Mini 110 and priced at $399.
The HP Mini 311 is HP's first Ion based netbook. It comes with Intel Atom N270 1.60 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM and 160 GB Hard disk. It's equipped with an 11.6-inch WXGA LCD and the new Nvidia Ion LE Chipset. There's also an HDMI port which lets the netbook play HD 1080p content on an external monitor. The netbook comes with a 92 percent keyboard, Wi-Fi b/g, Windows XP OS and standard 6-cell battery. The price starts at $399.
