HP Mini 311 To Get Spec Boost, Win 7 Professional

According to information about upcoming upgrades spotted in the Maintenance and Service Guide for the HP Mini 311, the HP Mini 311 is set to receive some major enhancements in specs along with multiple flavors of Windows 7.

The manual suggests the Mini 311 will receive the full version of Ion in upcoming editions (as opposed to the LE which it currently sports) as well as up to 3GB RAM and either an 80GB SSD or a 320GB HDD. Windows 7 options include Windows 7 Starter, Basic, Premium and Professional. Many netbooks are expected to be shipped with just Windows 7 Starter, but it appears HP has chosen not to go this route.

There is no exact time set for when the upgrades will be available, but they are expected soon.
