iView is to release a new netbook, the iiView A2 which bears a striking resemblance to Apple's MacBook Air.
The netbook consists of a 12.1 inches LCD with 1280x800 screen resolution and a little higher specifications then conventional netbooks. It includes Intel Atom N270 1.60 GHz Processor with a beefier 2 GB RAM and 320 GB hard disk.
The netbook come preloaded with Windows 7 RC1 with a Windows Vista license. This means for a free Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade after its release in October. Windows Vista Home Premium is not directly loaded because of the slow performance of the netbook with Vista.
The graphics is powered by Intel GMA 950 which lacks HD decode acceleration. However, a mini HDMI is also included. The iiView A2 comes with a 6 cell battery, 2 flip-out USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet and Wi-Fi b/g. The netbook will be released in Singapore with the retail price of around $468.
