August 21, 2009 at 04:08:37 AM, by Jesper Berg Rating: 0 out of 5

The release date of Windows 7 is getting near, and more companies are producing touchscreen capable netbooks. Kohjinsha has joined the pack with their latest EX6 touchscreen convertible netbook/tablet.

The netbook is equipped with 11.6 inch resistive touchscreen with 1366x768 pixels and uses Intel Atom N270 1.60 GHz processor with Intel 945GSE chipset. It offers up to 2 GB RAM and 160 GB hard drive. It also includes a DVD Burner, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, two USB 2.0 ports and gigabit Ethernet. There is also an Express card 54 slot with SDHC and microSD card readers. Optional fingerprint reader is also available. The dual front and rear cameras might be useful. Unfortunately, it comes with Windows XP Home, but might include Windows 7 after its release to make use of the touchscreen.

The convertible includes a 2600 mAh battery and retails around ¥59,800 ($635).

Tech words explained

"Clock Frequency"
This term refers to the speed of the computer component. Clock frequency uses “hertz” (Hz) as its base unit. Note that 1 Megahertz (MHz) refers to 1,000,000 hertz, while 1 Gigahertz (GHz) refers to 1,000 MHz. This number refers to the number of cycles the CPU can process per second. Hertz refers to the number of cycles per second the CPU operates at, similar to how a car engine runs at different RPM’s (Revolutions per Minute). Faster clock frequency usually suggests faster performance, but some processors and their components are designed to do more “work” every cycle.
