Lenovo Announces 12-inch IdeaPad S12 Netbooks

To be available on all three platforms - Atom + 945GSE, NVIDIA ION and VIA Nano.
Lenovo today announced introduction of 12-inch IdeaPad S12 netbooks. They will be available with three internal architectures world wide - Intel ATOM N270 + GMA 945 Graphics, ATOM N270 + NVIDIA ION Graphics and VIA NANO 2250 + Chrome9 HC3 Graphics.
IdeaPad S12 netbooks feature 12" WXGA LED-backlit screen, full-size keyboard, Dolby Sound, 3/6-cell battery, 1.14" thin design, multi-touch touchpad, ExpressCard Slot, 4-in-1 Memory Card Reader, 1.3-Megapixel Camera and three USB 2.0 ports. Lenovo's QuickStart, VeriFace, OneKey Rescue System & Energy Management software will continue to be pre-installed on the S12 netbooks. They will be available in Black or White colors and come pre-installed with Windows XP Home Edition. An HDMI port can also be found on the ION-based IdeaPad S12.
The 3.7 lbs. IdeaPad S12 netbooks will feature 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB Hard Drive, 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth.
Pricing & Availability:
IdeaPad S12 based on Intel's Atom N270 & 945GSE platform will be available in the U.S. first starting June. The NVIDIA ION-based S12 can be expected by mid-August. However, the VIA Nano-powered IdeaPad S12 will not be released the U.S. Range starts at $449.
