Lenovo's 12" netbook is now available with NVidia's Ion chipset, enabling it to handle full 1080p HD viewing.
The 3lb Ion-equipped S12 was originally supposed to be the first NVidia Ion netbook in the US. It had been delayed until the advent of Windows 7, and it is now finally here. The 12.1" display has a resolution of 1280x800, and will be powered by an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 2GB DDR2 RAM, and a 250GB HDD. There will be 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth support, along with 3 USB ports, HDMI, an integrated webcam and multi-card reader. It will feature the new Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
The above version of the S12 will retail for $599. Lenovo has also released a model with 3GB RAM and a 320GB HDD for $649.
