NEC has announced LaVie Light Lui Mobile with WiMax

NEC has recently announced their new notebook, the LaVie Light Lui Mobile with WiMax Capability

Following many other companies who have jumped into the netbook business, NEC has also finally stepped into this category with the introduction of this small mobile netbook. It's a pretty usual netbook with average design and specifications. However, the VNC Client option and the included WiMax is something good. The netbook has the following specifications.

• Intel Atom N280 1.66 GHz Processor
• 1 GB DDR2 RAM
• 160 GB of Hard Disk
• WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.1
• 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 LCD display
• Optional WiMax
• 6 Cell Battery 8.5 Hr life and weight of 1.32 kg

NEC offers a Lui Remote Desktop System; a branded VNC client with which you can connect Lui enabled Mobile devices to the PC. This would enable the mobile devices to access more powerful desktop devices when away. Thus, work can be done on the remote device and then sent to the Home Desktop PC. When needed, the Home Desktop PC can also be used for heavy processing tasks such as video and picture editing.

The optional WiMax will enable the netbook to access broadband internet, but the price of its upgrade is not announced yet. Availablity and prices are yet to be announced. Product Page Page:1/1
