Always Innovating's TouchBook is ready to be shipped. The hybrid netbook/tablet started production in the late June this year and the initial models are now ready for delivery. The device is actually a tablet with detachable keyboard.
The TouchBook was available for preorder earlier for $299 for the tablet and extra $99 for the keyboard. The package consists of an 8.9 inch touch sensitive LCD with 1024x600 screen resolution with 3D User Interface. It's equipped with a TI OMAP3530 Processor, 256 MB each of RAM and NAND Memory, and an 8 GB SD Card Storage. It is also equipped with a USB Wi-Fi b/g/n Adapter, Bluetooth and internal USB slots. The TouchBook promises 10 hours of battery life. It comes preloaded with Linux. Support for Windows XP might not be available due to comparatively low hardware specifications. It might take several weeks before new orders will be shipped due to preorder deliveries.

The article is inaccurate. It states that support for XP "might" not be available due to the low-end nature of the hardware. XP will *never* be supported, because this is an ARM CPU rather than an x86, and MSFT does not have a version of XP that runs on ARM. Their only ARM offering is WinCE.
