VIA Nano 3000 CPU Ships To OEMs

This CPU from Nano will compete with Intel's Atom in overall performance as well as the netbook, thin-and-light and all-in-one markets. You have a few months to get ready though - mass production of this new chip is slated for Q1 2010.

The VIA Nano 3000 Series will have 6 new CPUs capable of clock speeds of between 1GHz and 2GHz. All chips will feature 800MHz FSB, 64-bit support, SSE4 instructions, and compatability with Windows 7 / Linux. They will also be 20% more power efficient than previous Nano chips. The CPUs will be able to handle full 1080p multimedia playback as well.
