Western Digital Releases 2TB 7200RPM HDDs

Western Digital has released some of the fastest 2TB drives to date, with the Caviar Black and the RE4 boasting speeds of 7200RPM.
Western Digital has released two such 2TB drives, the Caviar Black and the RE4. Both drives are four-platter drives and feature 64MB of cache. They also both make use of a dual stage actuator, 3Gbps SATA, and an integrated dual processor. The RE4 also has additional features such as Active Power Save, enhanced RAFF™ technology, a multi-axis shock sensor, and 1.2million hours MTBF for use in "high-end enterprise environments".The RE4 is designed for servers and network use, whereas the Caviar Black is better for gaming and workstations. There is no price yet set for the RE4, but the Caviar Black can be found for $299.
