Windows 7 Released To Manufacturers

Microsoft announced the release to manufacturing (RTM) of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

First dibs goes to Windows Volume Licensing program customers, subscribers to Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet subscribers, who get priority from Microsoft. This RTM of the latest generation of Microsoft's flagship desktop and server operating systems is in preperation for the expected October 22 general release of Windows 7 to the public. Windows Server 2008 is expected to be released by no later than that date as well.
