Asus Eee PC Unboxing

We get our hands on the uber-tiny, uber-inexpensive, uber-mobile Linux-based sub-notebook!

Asus EeePC Unboxing

Oh, it is an exciting day at the Laptop Logic labs, where a fine little package was nestled next to our top secret entrance, marked with a nice top secret….ground shipping label. Ok, so our entrance isn’t so top secret, but a little package did arrive today.

And when we mean “little package”, we’re not exaggerating! We just got our Asus EeePC surf 4G in today and thought we’d share the glorious unboxing photos with you!

Starting today, we’re going to be keeping track of what we do with this little gem of ultra portable affordable-ness. I’m not sure that’s even a word, but it is now. We’re going to get up close and personal with the lil’ guy, so here are some starter pictures for you.

Good things come in little packages…and even though this may not "look" little now…just wait. It's also fun to note that on the box it shows multiple colors for the EeePC – a pink, a light blue, and a sharp yellow. That’s fun too, but lo, ours is the not so colorful "black" model - but it’s still sweet. Like a mini dark chocolate bar :)

A manual, a charger, the Eeepc, and a carrying sleeve (not shown) is what you get in the box. It’s a small package, and is pretty minimal, but really – what else do you really need?

Holding the EeePc in your hands…it feels like a toddler…waiting to play! And it’s hard not to open the unit, but the battery needs to charge some first. Here are some more pictures of the scale of this thing.

It’s seriously looks like it drank the Marmalade from Wonderland next to this Logitech AirMouse I had lying around…more on that for a later review ;)

What about next to my work’s Lenevo? It’s even smaller – it’s like Jack and the Beanstalk – and that’s a 14.1" T42! But notice the screen brightness as well! It may be small, but the screen is ample bright!

Holding it in my palm, it was like holding an eager puppy…ok, you get it. It’s small.

Here's the “Internet” tab – formed under the "Basic" desktop – not full desktop.

Audio out, Mic in, and a few USB connectors to round it out.

Well that concludes my unboxing…I'm off to surf the net…triple-E-Pc style. Don't forget to come back again when we will be reviewing this unit!
