Short Review: Mainstream Computing with the Aspire 5920-6329
Acer has not yet completely saturated the mainstream computer market, so there is still some room over for the Acer Aspire 5920-6329 computer. Weighing over 6.6 pounds, the Acer Aspire 5920-6329 computer is surprisingly (and interestingly) priced at just a little over a thousand dollars. In the mid-range price, this is already value for money considering the kinds of specs that one would find on this laptop.
Screen Real Estate
The Acer Aspire 5920-6329 computer comes with a widescreen 15.4 inch that is quite impressive and can almost rival the greatness of screens in, for example, Dell laptops (which is really known for amazing screens), while the 1280 x 800 native resolution is fairly standard in this notebook category, the Acer Aspire 5920-6329 computer appears to be a bit clearer when placed side by side with other 15.4 inch laptops from other brands. It also has an Intel Core 2 Duo chip for all your speedy computing needs. The notebook comes with an astoundingly generous 320 GB of hard disk space and also 2 GB of memory. When you think about it, 320 is a lot of space if you are just going to be working with simple tasks. But in the event that you want to collect something, like MP3 discographies, then 320 GB is a lot. It also features an nVidia GeForce 8 series graphics along with 256 MB of video memory.
What’s Nice
• The Acer Aspire 5920-6329 computer comes with a 2.5 GHz speed which is a lot faster compared to the rest of the notebooks out on the market in this category.
• Built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows you to pair up your headphones as well as sync to your computer all your mobile contacts.
• An on-board HDMI port will let you output the audio and video of your notebook with a TV or a monitor seamlessly – which means an easier time with presentations.
• Very high quality sound system. Acer took it one step further by adding an integrated sub-woofer to boot.
Some Concerns
• At 6.6 pounds, this laptop is a bit on the hefty side and is significantly heavier than other notebooks that are similarly priced. Usually it is heavier by .6 pounds which might not seem so significant on paper but does make a difference when you already compare two.
• Battery performance is not so good. Considering that the laptop itself shows great performance, the battery life is debatable as according to most battery eater tests would only last for around two and a half hours. For a laptop of this capacity, that is sometimes not enough. It needs more recharge cycles compared to other notebooks.
Conclusions
The Acer Aspire 5920-6329 computer performs well overall and shows that such is a laptop that is value for money. It is ideal for consumers who have general computing needs and would not mind an astoundingly generous hard disk capacity of 320 GB (more to share). Without such a compromising battery life, the Acer Aspire 5920-6329 computer would have been a perfect buy.
