Short Review: An All Around Winner with the Aspire One 150-1672 Netbook
Acer’s launch of the widely-successful Aspire One netbook series gained more loyal followers of the brand. With such a success, it was not surprising to note that the notebook manufacturer also decided to come up with different colors to appeal to a wider market while still proving that in terms of specs, the Aspire One 150-1672 netbook has a lot of clout.
Styling
Aesthetics obviously became a priority when it came to the conceptualization stage of the Aspire One 150-1672 netbook. With its streamlined looks and professional feel, the overall look of the Aspire One 150-1672 netbook is nothing short of polished. Acer’s glossy lid is spectacular-looking although a tad bit grease and fingerprint causing. The gently sloping lid provides an ergonomic feel to the entire device and makes everything a lot easier to carry. Hinges are quite tough and this goes to show that the Aspire One 150-1672 netbook is very sturdy. Opening the netbook shows differently colored interiors depending on the color you purchased. If you bought an Onyx blue Aspire One 150-1672 netbook then you get a hand rest in the same color while everything is in matte black. The same goes for other colors and what is consistent would be the all black keyboard. The keyboard is nice and spacious even though it is not as big as HP’s Mini series which is currently in the lead for best keyboard in the netbook category, it being in the 92% full size. Typing is a breeze with soft clicks and low keyboard flex. There are some gaps in between the keys though, but these are quite slim. The most annoying thing about this would be the left and right mouse cursors which can take a bit of time to adjust and get used to. Still, it is not truly that big of a deal. The track pad is a bit slippery somehow, so it is best to lessen the sensitivity of your track pad mouse settings when you choose to go off-mouse.
Specifications
The Aspire One 150-1672 netbook packs some punch in the specifications category. It runs on Windows XP Home edition, which is basically the best OS out there if you vehemently refuse to work with Linux free OS. Some netbooks that have the same specs as the Aspire One 150-1672 netbook run on Vista which contributes on longer lag times and boot up times. With the Win XP on the Aspire One 150-1672 netbook the usual boot time would be around twenty seconds till you get to the main page. With 160 GB of space it is a pleasure to maximize the potentials of this netbook. This is idea for college students needing a handy computer for their reports and businessmen who want to travel light yet still remain productive.
A three cell battery comes with the Aspire One 150-1672 netbook package, which is a bit limiting since battery eater tests show that the laptop will only last for around two hours and twenty minutes. If you want more mileage out of your Aspire One 150-1672 netbook you might consider getting a six cell battery to crank up the juice to up to three and a half to four hours.
