Short Review: Merging Style with Business Thanks to the Dell Latitude E6400 Laptop Computer
When you say ‘company laptop’ chances are you are going to think of either a Dell Latitude or a Lenovo Think Pad – two brands and models that are commonly seen in offices designed for medium to large-scale businesses. With Dell, reinventing the Latitude line yet still retaining its market in ideal budget business scales is simply the most logical step to take. Its latest reinvention is the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop that instead of the usual gray look of before now sports a metal design in brushed black.
Computing Power with the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop
The Dell Latitude E6400 laptop is powered thanks to the Intel Centrino 2 processor with a starting price of a highly reasonable one thousand and one hundred dollars. There are many other extra features that come with this particular model such as a backlit keyboard and a hard drive that has a 7,200 rpm desktop speed. Other extras that have been around for quite some time yet still pleasing to find in the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop would be the Webcam, fingerprint reader and a modem that comes built-in. If you think you do not need the additional features that are business-friendly in nature (such as the vPro platform of Intel, a Smart Card contactless reader and a TPM chip), you can still have a lot of fun with the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop. If by chance you are going to make full use of such features then you have a laptop that not only looks smart but can hustle up its pace double-duty style in order to keep up with the rigorous workout of your days.
Looks
The Dell Latitude E6400 laptop updated its look with a brushed metal surface that is more industrial in looks compared to the old gray lid in the previous models. This update ends up giving the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop a more modern look and feel yet still reminds you that yes, it is indeed a polished business laptop – albeit with more class and style. However, the Dell Latitude E6400 laptop weighs in at six pounds. This makes it on the much heavier side compared to other fourteen inch laptops out on the market today but this extra poundage seems to make it look sturdier especially if you are going to be bringing it around with on the road.
Keyboard Details
The keyboard feels somewhat tight in terms of spacing but highly responsive. In effect, it takes some getting used to. There is virtually no keyboard flex at all and for an additional forty nine dollars you can get a backlit keyboard to boot. This backlighting is a very useful thing because it provides the necessary illumination when typing in dark places (although why you would need to type in the dark is something that poses as a befuddling question).
With these improvements and more, it can then be said that the new Dell Latitude E6400 laptop is a great addition to the ever-improving Latitude series from Dell.
