Short Review: Dell Studio XPS 13 Laptop: The Middle Ground
The Dell Studio XPS line is a hybrid series XPS series and the Studio series. Needless to say, if you put two together and attach an affordable price tag on it will come as no surprise that people will be flocking to purchase it on the spot.
Looks
The Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop is a sleek and sloping all-black laptop that looks like a mini counterpart of the fancy schmancy Alienware mobile computers. The design borrowed from the XPS series would be the sleek brushed chassis that lends an expensive touch to it aesthetically without the heartache inducing price tag. It also comes in another color which is blue, but the all-black and metal chassis of the unit makes it look several notches higher than what most are used to in the professional series. Opening the slightly downward sloping lid reveals a futuristic all-black keyboard that feels as nice as it looks to the touch. Keys are responsive and make subdued clicks that will most certainly not sound irritating when you hear it from afar. The keyboard has a slight white glow which also helps when typing in the dark and furthers the sophistication of the Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop as a mobile device.
Screen
For a mobile device, the 13.3 inch LCD of the Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop seems like a good marriage between easy to read and easy to tote around. You can comfortably view documents in its whole size on this laptop sans the side scrolling and it is easy to view things on the bright screen display that is neither glaring nor gets washed out when exposed to intense sunlight.
Powerful Specifications
For it to be a superior device, the Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop needs to make sure that it is running all the best specifications inside to get the job done. Multitasking is easy and efficient thanks to the built in Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor which runs at top speeds of 2.4 GHz. It has a 320 GB which is a pretty astonishing amount of hard disk space found on a computer between the budget and professional ranges. This is a great plus as you now have more space to store all the things you need here.
Battery Life
The Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop scores brownie points in terms of battery life, as it can run for a total of three hours and fifty minutes on a single charge. With battery longevity like that, you will be able to save on electricity while at the same time have enough juice to remain productive and get to do your work on time.
The Bottom Line
The Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop is a good buy for someone who wants the specs of an XPS but only has a budget slightly above the Studio series. Clearly, it has found a great middle ground for mobile computing that will surely be loved by a good many in the market.
