Short Review: Business-Friendly Computing with the Extensa EX4420-5239
Wanting a mid-sized desktop replacement computer that is also easy to bring around with you might have you perusing over the features of the Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop. Not exactly the trendiest laptop around, it nonetheless has been around long enough to merit a review of its own.
Upon asking other owners, it was clear that the general consensus over the Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop was that it is great in both quality and performance - seemingly like a desktop system, but with the portability and convenience of having a notebook which you can pick up and bring with you wherever you need to go.
Up to the Minute
It is nice to note that the Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop comes pre-installed with the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system. Most people say that windows is on the “glitchy†side of things but has regained a sense of reliability after some time. Multitasking is also easy with the Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop because it also comes with the AMD Mobile Athlon 64 X2 processor. While a lot of people prefer using a different processor for this one (namely, an Intel one) the AMD Mobile Athlon 64 X2 actually performs well. Air vent aside, the Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop kept at low heat temperatures even when several programs were all in use at the same time. It also has 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM which is also the reason why the programs can load pretty fast and work simultaneously without slowing the system down.
Looks
The first word that comes to mind upon seeing the Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop is: professional. It has a no-nonsense black style which hints at seriousness of purpose and seems to prioritize business before fun – which is very apt for most companies as well. The keys are nice and sleek and do not have any keyboard flex to them at all. It is also significant to note that the entire laptop, from exterior to interior, is not a fingerprint magnet – which will save a lot of people time by not needing to wipe it every now and then.
Battery Life
The Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop comes with a six cell battery that should be enough to get all of your tasks done while away from a wall socket. Battery life lasts at a respectable three hours and forty minutes, which is expected of a battery of this size. All in all, for as long as you have reasonable expectations from your Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop you will have no problems being away from a socket. You can even extend this time to up to four hours and ten minutes if you set it on power saving mode to give you just a little bit more juice to work with.
Bottom Line
The Acer Extensa EX4420-5239 laptop is a great laptop to have with you while you work. It is reliable and helps you become more productive by letting you do what you need in the amount of time that you have.
