Short Review: LifeBook P8020 Notebook: Your Lightweight Option
If an ultraportable device is a main consideration in selecting a laptop, the Fujitsu LifeBook P8020 notebook might be worth looking into.
Design
Despite it adopting the usual boxy state of the Fujistu laptop series, the LifeBook P1630 Notebook is still one pretty looker. It has a glossy piano black lid that might be a bit of a fingerprint magnet but is still worth the one million and one swipes that you will make to keep it looking neat, shiny and most of all fingerprint free. Opening the lid will reveal a matte black wrist rest area with a fairly decent track pad in a size that will not cramp your screen navigation but not exactly spacious as well. The keyboard is fit to the size of its 12.1 inch screen – a bit cramped compared to laptops that have bigger interior real estate but certainly a lot bigger compared to the miniscule keyboard found in most mini laptops or netbooks. It appears that the keyboard of the LifeBook P1630 Notebook has found a good compromise in terms of portability and size so that you will not end up getting finger cramps when working on this device for long periods of time.
The specific dimensions of the LifeBook P1630 Notebook are 11.1 x 8.25 x 1.1 and 1.6 inches thick. It weighs around two pounds or fourteen and a half ounces, which safely makes it in the travel weight category of three pounds and below. The sleek design of the LifeBook P1630 Notebook along with its ultraportable features therefore makes it into just the right combination of looks, performance and power.
Power
The LifeBook P1630 Notebook comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor that is designed to deliver (and yes, it does deliver) performance, better connectivity and am extended battery life. You can multitask on this machine quite easily because loading times are not as long as you would expect on other devices. Another great thing to love is how the LifeBook P1630 Notebook has the power to protect your data thanks to the Fujitsu Shock Sensor Utility that works to protect your hard disk.
Superior Security
Data freaks will rejoice upon knowing that the LifeBook P1630 Notebook also has a series of combination lock buttons. These are designed to prevent the unauthorized access of your computer. For additional safety, the LifeBook P1630 Notebook also comes with an integrated Biometric Fingerprint Sensor doubled with the OmniPass software coming from Softex Inc. This allows user authentication as well as better password management so you have customized log in for all the accounts you have, both online and through the system. The Fujitsu LifeBook P8020 is all integrated with SD Card Reader, LAN, FireWire, VGA and 3 USB Ports. However, the speaker quality is lacking in LifeBook P8020 as the smaller size of the speakers have limited bass and midrange output and are also silent even at maximum volume levels. Designed with ultra-low voltage of the processor hardly draws and power when at load or idle, thus reducing the effort needed to keep the notebook cool.
Space
The LifeBook P1630 Notebook also comes with 160 GB hard drive which is fairly regular for laptops nowadays. It is nice to note that the six cell battery that comes with it provides at best three hours and twenty three minutes of top notch computing power – enough juice to keep you going until your next recharge.
