HP Compaq 6530b Notebook PC - Short Review

HP Compaq’s business line of computers makes way for another model, the HP Compaq 6530b notebook computer. This reasonably thin and light notebook is on the inexpensive side and should definitely capture a respectable share of the market thanks to its great features.

Dimensions

The HP Compaq Business Notebook 6530b checks in at the 5.3 pound mark which barely allows it entry into the thin and light notebook division. There are many other 5.3 pound notebooks around, but so far the HP Compaq Business Notebook 6530b appears to be one the most budget-friendly at the retail price of $950. It has a 14.1 inch widescreen display with a native resolution of 1280x800. This is a fairly standard display for most laptops.

In terms of styling, HP keeps it safe by sticking to the well-loved path of no-nonsense yet elegant look of the Business notebook line. The smooth and clean glossy black lines are quite minimalist and the simple interior layout reflects straightforwardness inside as well. Keyboard flex is at a minimum and clicks are quite smooth.

Processor

The HP Compaq Business Notebook 6530b runs relatively fast thanks to the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. This business model also comes with 120 GB worth of hard disk space as well as 2 GB of RAM. For a business computer, 2 GB of RAM is enough to get you through your work without any lag time.

Battery performance may be very impressive, but it was also noticed that charge times is way longer compared to other notebooks that run seven hours away from the AC adaptor.

Conclusion

Those who like a business laptop but still stick to their budget will find satisfaction in the HP Compaq Business Notebook 6530b. It is a good balance of portability and computing power for as long as you keep your expectations (and amount of files) to a minimum. If you want to load up the laptop with a good number of songs, videos and other files, you’d best get yourself an external HDD for this purpose.
